Being a people / employee-oriented HR and Payroll professional, Shakirah specialises in employee relations, implementing new systems and driving organisational change. This vast knowledge and expertise honed through core HR functions, from recruitment, payroll and training to employee relations, engagement and compliance. Her R12 and iTrent system implementation experience includes process development, testing, training, and user support.
She is proficient in all aspects of HR and payroll processing, managing BACS, tax/NI deductions, and pensions. She handles employee disciplinary/grievance, sickness/maternity pay, overpayments, and communicate with external agencies. She proactively identifies training, learning & development and skill gaps and support colleagues in adopting new technologies. She is currently the HR Director at AlBirr Credit Union.
